Free
Credit Report - How to get
it
All of the 3 main
agencies are obliged to provide with a
free annual
credit report. The rules allow for you
to get one free credit score every 12
months.
You
can access a central website where you can
request your report from the different
credit bureaus. You will have to get your
free credit report through this site and not
direct from individual agencies
sites.
Because
each credit bureau uses slightly different
sources of information it is advisable to
get a report from each so you can see what
information is held with
which agency.
The 3 Main Credit Bureaus are:
-
Experian
-
Equifax
-
TransUnion
The
information you will need to provide to get
your free credit
report is;

address
-

you have moved within the last 2-3 years you
will need to provide the previous
addresses.

may be asked to provide specific information
that only you would know, this is to
keep reports secure.
Depending
on how you have order your report will
determine how long it takes to receive it.
If you have ordered it online you can get
instant access to your report, if you have
ordered it by post it can take between 10-15
days to arrive. It can take longer if there
is a period of high demand for
reports.

If
there are errors on your report then that

then you need to get hold of a copy of
your credit history and check the
information on it for accuracy.
